It was a chilly and frosty
evening last night, perfect weather for a performance that echoed Christmas Eve
itself. Tina Pandher presented Santa's
Lonely Planet Guide reading a story of sorts following Santa around the
globe.
Tina Pandher wonders... if you've
ever wondered how Santa copes with keeping true to the traditions of Christmas
which are celebrated across the globe?
Do children in Asia lay out mince pies
for a gliding red figure? Or are mango
trees and magic almonds another way of keeping the Christmas spirit alive. Let us cross steady rivers, mammoth mountains
and deep hill valleys to witness Christmas through the eyes of Santa Claus!!
We are always keen where
possible to pair a venue with a performance that connect to each other. So
Tina’s wonderful literary treat was an obvious choice for Bookends, Wokingham’s
independent bookshop.
There was a crowd of about
30 people lining the pavement each side of Bookends and on the other side of the road.
Bookends is an independent
company trading in Wokingham for over 20 years. They have two shops almost
opposite each other. On the 12th we will be across the road at
Bookends Gift Shop.
PS When it does get to
Christmas Eve don’t forget you can follow Father Christmas around the globe via
NORAD here: http://www.noradsanta.org/en/
Tonights performance is at Kaanaanmaa on Denmark Street at 6:15pm.
