Highlighting our Charities No. 1 JAC (Just Around the Corner)

We are privileged to have some amazing charities working with us to help create the Living Advent Calendar. While they are each collecting for their charities on a nightly basis they are also volunteering their time to assist with the set up and delivery of many nights of performance. Expect to see many JAC jackets during the first week and occasionally throughout the 24 days putting up sound systems and lights and making sure our performances go with a bang!

We hope you will give generously, bucket collectors will be out each evening for you to make any donations. The bucket collectors are collecting for all four Charities (WADE, JAC, More Arts and Wokingham Rotary) at the end of the 24 days the final total will be split evenly between the Charities.

Just Around the Corner is a registered charity working with the young people of Woodley, Wokingham and surrounding areas.  We are an outreach youth and community organisation working in the parks and streets, but also work with schools and existing youth clubs.

JAC is a recognised and valued organisation which, over the years, has gained the trust and support of the young people, helping them to make positive choices in their lives by providing appropriate education and information on issues relevant to them. Each session has on average a team of six volunteers, some of whom are young people who want to reach out to their peers.

We receive support and funding from the local churches, Woodley Town Council, Earley Town Council, Wokingham District Council and other Trusts. We have detached teams that cover Woodley, Wokingham, Earley, Crowthorne, Winnersh, Newtown and Whitley.

JAC wants to see each young person given the opportunity to make something of their life.  JAC volunteers are willing to put time and effort into getting alongside young people supporting them in making positive choices about their lifestyle and future. We are a non profit making Charity and the young people have free use of the facility. We need to raise all our own funds to provide the best possible facility to show the young people they are valued. But we need the support of our community.

JAC can be contacted on: info@jacoutreach.org or read more about them at www.jacoutreach.org
