Highlighting our Charities No. 2 - Rotary Club of Wokingham

I’ve said it before but we are privileged to have some amazing charities working with us to help create the Living Advent Calendar. While they are each collecting for their charities on a nightly basis they are also volunteering their time to assist with the set up and delivery of many nights of performance.

Since Friday 7th is has been the turn of the Rotary Club of Wokingham to act as main assistance, expect to see many Wokingham Rotary high-vis jackets putting up sound systems and lights, and making sure our performances go with a bang!

We hope you will give generously, bucket collectors will be out each evening for you to make any donations. The bucket collectors are collecting for all four Charities (WADE, JAC, More Arts and Wokingham Rotary) at the end of the 24 days the final total will be split evenly between the Charities.

“Rotary is a worldwide, voluntary organisation of like-minded business people, operating in 168 countries, who wish to provide service to others.

Rotarians develop community service projects that address many of today’s most critical issues, such as polio eradication, infant mortality, children at risk, poverty and hunger, the environment, illiteracy and violence. Rotary also supports programmes for young people, educational opportunities and international exchanges for students, teachers and other professionals, assisting with vocational and career development.

Just as importantly, Clubs also support many local needs, organisations and charities to the benefit of the elderly and young alike.

The Rotary Motto – Service Above Self.

- David Gold, President of The Rotary Club of Wokingham”
