8th December - Thames Valley Chorus

On the 8th day of Wokingham Living Advent Calendar we welcomed Thames Valley Chorus at the Local Barber Shop. They performed, a cappella, a series of popular and traditional Christmas songs including “White Christmas”, “Winter Wonderland”, “Carol of the Bells” and “I Want a Hippopotamus for Christmas along with a fun rendition of “Is This the Way to Amarillo”.

It was a fantastic upbeat performance with as usual amazing harmonies that really got an audience of around 50 people dancing. We always enjoy being able to put together a venue and act who complement each other so well and who can argue with barbershop at a Barber Shop.  They performed here in the first year of the Wokingham Living Advent Calendar and it was great to have them back.

It was also the 6th anniversary of the Local Barber Shop being in Wokingham and the Town Mayor, Cllr Martin Bishop wished them a very happy birthday. There was a great celebratory mood with the Local Barber Shop providing hot chocolate to the audience and much fun in the performances. Do watch the video it has some great fun moments.

Tonight join us at H2O on Old Row Court off Rose Street for another brilliant performance. A quick hint: These chaps are Fleet of foot, dancing mostly in a Cotswold style.
