1st December 2015 - Rock Choir at Wokingham Town Hall

Wokingham Living Advent Calendar got off to a fine start last night with a performance by the fabulous Rock Choir at Wokingham Town Hall.

Rock Choir is the UK's favourite contemporary choir with over 17,000 members across the country.  Today's performers were from the Monday evening choir that rehearses in the Methodist Church in Rose Street & the Wednesday lunchtime choir that rehearses at St. Paul's Parish Rooms. They are open to new members and if you would like to know more you can at www.rockchoir.com

Led by Glen Harvey they sang a selection of rock/pop hits including “As long as you love me” originally sung by the Backstreet Boys and “Don’t Stop Me Now” sung by Queen, finishing off with the Christmas classic “Merry Christmas Everyone”.

The 150 strong crowd had a great time and during “Don’t Stop Me Now” found themselves in the midst of the choir as members of Rock Choir hid among them revealed themselves in a flashmob style event.

We hope you enjoy this short video of the evening and will see you tonight at the Christmas Tree in the Market Place for the Dressing of the Christmas Tree where we will see local schools present handmade decorations to Wokingham Town Mayor Cllr Philip Mirfin and sing carols led by Wokingham Choral Society.
